The Ridge Boys Lacrosse program used the popular Thunderbolt Lacrosse Tournament in West Windsor, NJ as an opportunity to raise money for The Katie King Foundation. Through pledges of ground balls won, the Boys program was able to donate $6800 to help the King family with medical and travel expenses.
Katie King is a fourth grade Oaks Street student who was diagnosed with Ewing Sacroma, a rare type of cancer that affects only about 200 kids and adults annually in the United States. Katie has been an avid lacrosse player in Ridge's girls program.
The families pledged a certain amount of money for each ground ball their team won at the tournament. Each team played four games, and some teams garnered up to 60 ground balls won.
