Our Ridge Youth Sports Varsity Cheer team competed in this year's NJ State Championship earlier this month. For this year's virtual meet, the team competed in two separate divisions - Recreation Varsity C and Recreation Game Day, of which Ridge Youth Sports placed 1st and 2nd respectively. Having never participated in this annual event, this is the first state championship title achieved by Ridge Youth Sports!
The team which historically travels to Florida for the UCA National Championship participated virtually this year along with teams from across the Nation. This is the second National title for the RYSI Varsity team having won last year in the Game Day division. The Ridge Youth Sports Cheerleaders became National Champions this year for their Traditional routine in the 14U division!
This team is comprised of 19 athletes ranging from grades 5-9. They worked extremely hard this last year amidst all the limitations and setbacks brought on by the global pandemic. Despite all the challenges, the team completed their cheer season and they were very proud and excited to represent Basking Ridge at the State and National level this year!
