2026 Little Laxers Boys Lacrosse

LITTLE LAXERS (Grades K-2)

Little Laxers: K-2nd Grade Program

Who: Open to boys in Kindergarten through 2nd grade who live or go to school in Basking Ridge (and surrounding towns without a program for this age group).

When: March 1st, 2026 - early June 2026.

Where:

In March, 1 indoor practice weekly depending on indoor availability.
In April/May, one weekday practice and one weekend practice at Mountain Park.
2-3 tournaments for 1st and 2nd graders; scrimmages and inter-team games for all players.

Uniforms:

Pinnies will be provided during the first week of practice.

Shorts, shooting shirts, etc., are OPTIONAL for K-2nd graders and can be ordered at

● Required Gear:

All players must have the following: helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard, protective cup, cleats, and lacrosse stick.

● Uniforms:

o Pinnies will be provided during the first week of practice.

o Shorts, shooting shirts, etc., are optional for K-2nd graders.

2026 Boys Lacrosse, Grades 3-8

Welcome to Ridge Youth Boys Lacrosse!

We are excited for the 2026 Spring season and look forward to another year focused on community, skill development, competition, and fun! Please review the information below, as it includes updates from previous years.

3rd-8th Grade Program

Who: Open to boys in 3rd-8th grade who live (or attend school) in Basking Ridge.

When: March 1st – end of May 2026.

Where:

Preseason Practices (March 1st-27th):
Indoor practices in early March (weekdays)
Outdoor practices at Mountain Park (weather permitting) on Saturdays and Sundays, and on weekdays in late March (weather permitting).
Regular Season (March 28th - end of May):
Two weekly practices (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at Mountain Park).
Up to 14+ games starting March 29th.
1-2 tournaments, including league playoffs.

Cost: $400 (payment plans available) until 1/29/26. The price increases to $425 on 1/29/26.

*****PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO UPFRONT CHARGE FOR THE 5TH GRADE TEAM AT THIS TIME. SINCE NUMBERS ARE HISTORICALLY LOW FOR THIS GRADE, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO SIGN UP (AT NO COST) AND WE WILL EVALUATE OUR NUMBERS IN JANUARY. IF A TEAM FORMS, AND WE HOPE IT WILL, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE CHARGED $400.00. We encourage all those eligible to play RYSI Lacrosse to register, as NJLL rules prohibit playing with other towns if your town provides a program.

Registration Deadline: January 31st, 2026 (no late registration).

TEAM STRUCTURE:

Grades 3-5 (Developmental): Emphasis on skill development and equal playing time.
Grades 6-8 (Advanced – BLACK): Competitive league where playing time is not guaranteed but based on factors such as skill, attendance, conduct, interest and effort.
7^th/8^th Grade GREEN GAMES - Developmental
Goal is to strengthen skill set, knowledge, and increase game playing time for all players.
Ideal for first-time players, those still developing skills, or multiple Spring-sport athletes, with an interest in more recreational-style game play.
Players will practice with their appropriate grades and receive instruction from head coaches for all practices and games.
Green games will be scheduled dependent upon player signup, availability, game schedule and overall interest, and will be paired against teams from surrounding towns with comparable rosters.

GEAR/UNIFORMS:
REQUIRED GEAR:
Helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard, protective cup, cleats, and lacrosse stick.

REQUIRED UNIFORMS: Black jersey (home games), White jersey (away games), Shorts
***Players are free to continue to use last season’s black/white jerseys and shorts should they choose to do so.
Select your preferred number (retired numbers: #3 and #32).
It is requested that returning players keep the previous year’s number.
If choosing to change your number, please make a note in the registration system.

US Lacrosse Membership:
Players must have a valid US Lacrosse Membership.
Please join or renew before registering for the program, as you will need your membership number and expiration date.
