2025 Little Laxers Boys Lacrosse

LITTLE LAXERS (Grades K-2)

Who: Open to boys in Kindergarten through 2nd grade who live in Basking Ridge (and surrounding towns without a program for this age group).
When: March 1st, 2025 - early June 2025.
Where:
● *NEW – Longer season!
o Regular Season to start on March 1st and end approximately June 1st:
o Two weekly practices (60-75 minutes).
o In March, 1-2 indoor practices weekly depending on indoor availability.
o In April/May, one weekday practice at Mountain Park and one-weekend practice at Astor Field.
o 2-3 tournaments for 1st and 2nd graders; scrimmages and inter-team games for all players.
Cost: $195

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LITTLE LAXERS

● Required Gear:
All players must have the following: helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard, protective cup, cleats, and lacrosse stick.

● Uniforms:
o Pinnies will be provided during the first week of practice.
o Shorts, shooting shirts, etc., are optional for K-2nd graders.
o Optional gear can be purchased through the Uniform Store.
o Uniform Order Deadline: January 9th, 2025 (no additional orders will be accepted after this date).

2025 Boys Lacrosse

Welcome to Ridge Youth Boys Lacrosse!
We are excited for the 2025 Spring season and look forward to another year focused on
community, skill development, competition, and fun! Please read through the
information below, as there are some updates from previous years.

Spring 2025 Program Overview

3rd-8th GRADE PROGRAM
Who: Open to boys in 3rd-8th grade who live in Basking Ridge.
When: March 1st - May 31st, 2025.
Where:
● Preseason Practices (March 1st-28th):
o Indoor practices in early March at Branchburg Sports Complex(weekdays).
o Outdoor practices at Mountain Park (weather permitting) on Saturdays and Sundays, and on weekdays in late March (weather permitting).
o NEW: Skills clinics run by top-tier coaches and athletes.
● Regular Season (March 29th - end of May):
o Two weekly practices (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at Mountain Park).
o Up to 14+ games starting March 29th.
o 1-2 tournaments, including league playoffs for grades 6-8.
Cost: $400 (payment plans available).
Registration Deadline: January 31st, 2025 (no late registration).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
● Team Structure:
o We strive to balance team sizes to ensure ample playing time for all players.
o Grades 3-5 (Developmental): Emphasis on skill development and equal playing time.
o Grades 6-8 (Advanced – BLACK TEAM): Competitive league where playing time is not guaranteed but based on factors such as skill, attendance, conduct, interest and effort.
o ***NEW THIS YEAR*** 7 th -8 th Grade Developmental Team (GREEN TEAM)
▪ The main goal of the 7/8 Green team is to strengthen skill set,knowledge, and increase game playing time for all players. Green team is ideal for players who are first-time players, still developing skills, or playing multiple sports in Spring, with an interest in more recreational-style game play.
▪ Players will practice with their appropriate grades and receive instruction from Black Team head coaches for all practices and games.
▪ Green team game rosters will be formed on a weekly basis dependent upon player signup, availability, game schedule and overall interest, and will be paired against teams from surrounding towns with comparable rosters.

● US Lacrosse Membership:
o Every 3rd-8th grade player must have a valid US Lacrosse Membership.
o Please join or renew before registering for the program, as you will need
your membership number and expiration date.
o Sign up or renew here.

● Required Gear:
All players must have the following equipment:
o Helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard, protective cup,
cleats, and lacrosse stick.

● Uniforms:
o Required: New jersey and uniform shorts.
▪ *NEW – Black jersey (away games) – must order new
▪ White jersey (home games)
▪ Shorts
▪ The black jersey (away) is NEW this year, so all players must place an order.
▪ Players are free to continue to use last season’s white jersey (home) and shorts should they choose to do so..
o Optional: New shooting shirts (players may reuse previous season shirts).
o Select your preferred number (retired numbers: #3 and #32).
▪ It is requested that returning players keep the previous year’s number.
o Deadline to order uniforms: January 24th, 2025. No additional orders will be available after this date.

● Coaching:
Coaches will be assigned as the season approaches. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or assistant, indicate your interest during registration, and we will contact you.
