2024 Girls Lacrosse

Welcome to the RYSI Girls Lacrosse 2024 season!

Looking forward to another great lacrosse season. I know we still aren’t through the Winter Season but we have to plan for the Spring.

Grades 3-8 preseason practices start the first week of March. Preseason will have 3 practices a week Saturday and Sunday at Mountain Park and one weekday indoors at Branchburg Sports Complex. (likely to be Monday evenings)

Games kick off in April (TBD), and the season wraps up around Memorial Day weekend. We are looking at a similar schedule as the past few seasons with 2 practices and 2 games a week (Saturday games a possibility this year, TBD) as well as 2 tournaments (maybe 3, TBD) in April and May.

Grades 1 - 2 will start Tuesday March 12 and practice every remaining Tuesday in March at Branchburg Sports Complex then practice 2 times a week at Astor Field with 2-4 playdays in April and May.

We try not to schedule anything during spring break but will have optional training during that time. Also, we will not have games or practices on Easter Sunday and Mother’s Day

As a reminder the goal for the program is for 1 the girls to have fun, 2 the girls to learn to appreciate the game and 3 that every girl that comes through the program regardless of skill level improves appreciably throughout the season. Another focus for us this year will be on Team building and sportswomanship.

Please register your girls early as we are working on scheduling already and trying to ensure we are efficient as possible with our time. Also, for planning purposes we are going to close the registration the 3rd week of February this year so please plan accordingly.

Requirements:

Valid US Lacrosse number - please purchase or renew your membership on uslacrosse.org before registering. This is a requirement from US LAX!

Uniform - you may re-use previous year's uniform if it still fits or purchase a new one - we will be sending out a link in January

Goggles, mouthguard, stick, and cleats

You will be issued a practice pinnie that should be brought to every practice

Recap:

Grades 1-2

Preseason 1 practice per week in March starting March 12

Regular season 2 practices per week in April at Astor field and 2-4 playdays in April and May

Grades 3-8

Preseason March -Saturday and Sunday at Mountain Park and (likely) Monday evenings at Branchburg Sports Complex

Regular season (April - May) - 2 practices a week (1 at Astor and 1 at Mountain Park) and 2 games a week (preferably 1 home, 1 away)

We compete in Conference F in the JGLA

We will enter 2 tournaments or playdays (possibly 3)

Practice days for each team will be announced in February and games by March 1st

Specifically grades 1-4 could use coaches and team parents.

Girls required equipment includes: goggles, mouthguard and stick. Also, a note the mouthguard cannot be white.

THERE WILL BE A $35 LATE FEE BEGINNING FEBRUARY 4TH.
